Apistogramma macmasteri is a dwarf cichlid known for its stunning colors, particularly bright reds and blues on the head and fins. Males have bright reds, blues, and oranges, while females are more subtle with beige and pale yellow hues.
Size and Lifespan
Apistogramma Macmasteri grow to an average length of around 3 inches in the aquarium. With the proper care, their lifespan can be between 3-5 years!
Tank Size and Requirements
We recommend a tank that is 10 gallons for a singular specimen. For a pair or trio (1M2F), at the very least a 20 gallon! They work well with a variety of fish and do best in a non-aggressive community!
Diet
Apistogramma Macmasteri are omnivorous fish, they thrive on a mix of foods. High-quality pellets or flakes designed for tropical fish can serve as a staple diet, providing essential nutrients. However it is highly recommended to supplement their diet with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp.
