Cichlid: Dwarf Flag Acara

The Dwarf Flag Cichlid, is a peaceful, small cichlid with a unique "Smiling" appearance due to a dark curved banned on its face. These fish can change color and pattern, exhibiting blue and red coloration, particularly during breeding. They have a dark spot on their dorsal fin and are known to be extremely peaceful.

Size and Lifespan

Growing to an average length of around 3 inches in the aquarium. With the proper care, their lifespan can be between 2-4 years!

Tank Size and Requirements

We recommend a tank that is 20 gallons for a singular specimen. For a pair or trio at the very least a 30 gallon! They work well with a variety of fish and do best in a non-aggressive community!

Diet

Dwarf Flag Cichlids are omnivorous fish, they thrive on a mix of foods. High-quality pellets or flakes designed for tropical fish can serve as a staple diet, providing essential nutrients. However it is highly recommended to supplement their diet with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp.
