Cichlid: Electric Blue Acara

Electric Blue Acaras are known for their vibrant light blue bodies and orange tipped dorsal fin. They are a selectively bred color variant of the Blue Acara.

Size and Lifespan

Growing to an average length of around 7 inches in the aquarium. With the proper care, their lifespan can be between 8-10 years!

Tank Size and Requirements

We recommend a tank that is 40 gallons for a singular specimen. Larger for a small group. They work well with a variety of fish and do best in a non-aggressive community!

Diet

Electric Blue Acaras are omnivorous fish, they thrive on a mix of foods. High-quality pellets or flakes designed for tropical fish can serve as a staple diet, providing essential nutrients. However it is highly recommended to supplement their diet with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp.
