Red Honey Gourami is a stunning dwarf gourami, prized for its vibrant red hues and peaceful temperament. Unlike many other gourami types, Red Honey Gouramis are smaller and less territorial, making them an excellent choice for nano and community tanks. Gourami's are labyrinth fish, meaning they have an organ to breath air from the surface of the water, just like a betta fish. Though, you should still provide oxygen through the water for these fish because it's their primary method of intaking oxygen.
Size and Lifespan
The Red Honey Gourami can reach a max length of around 2 inches. typically have a lifespan of 4-8 years. While some may live longer, averaging 3-6 years is generally considered a good lifespan.
Tank Size and Requirements
We recommend a tank that is 10 gallons for a single gourami. Their small size and gentle nature make them perfect for nano setups, where they can coexist peacefully with other small, non-aggressive species. We prefer to keep them at water temperatures between 75°F and 82°F! Avoid strong currents, as these fish prefer calm waters.
