Angelfish: Koi Veiltail

The Koi Veiltail Angelfish is an beautiful variant by their mottled black, white, yellow, and orange coloring. They are the veiltail variety, meaning they have significantly elongated dorsal, anal, and pectoral fins. 

Size and Lifespan

Koi Veiltail Angelfish grow to an impressive size, typically reaching up to 6 inches in length. Their stately presence and graceful swimming movements make them a captivating centerpiece in larger aquariums. Angelfish can live up to 8 to 12 years long.

Tank Size and Requirements

We recommend a tank that is 30 gallons for a single angelfish. 40 gallons for a pair, but a larger tank is required for a group. The tall body shape of this fish must be considered regarding the height of its tank. This species is usually peaceful and can be kept with other peaceful species that are not too large or aggressive. Peaceful, small schooling fish are suitable tank mates as well as most bottom-dwelling fish. Some potential tankmates may include dwarf cichlids and small tetras.

Diet

They will readily eat flake food, freeze-dried food, frozen foods and vegetable tablets. To maintain good health, supplement their diet with periodic feedings of live foods such as worms.
